We worked with Terri to select furniture for our condo at Paradise Cove. She was very accommodating in helping us chose custom pieces that were not included on their site. We are looking forward to arriving at our condo in Jan 2025 with furniture already placed in the condo.

I furnished our First Condo with Bedroom and Dining room Furniture purchased from Merida (Over in the Yucatan), and Living Room Furniture Purchased and shipped from Texas. All bought from looking at a Picture. Not the best, and I had no Idea when it would arrive, or if it would Include delivering everything up to the 4th Floor or leaving it at the security gate.

The furniture arrived, marked up from poor packaging and handling from the Transport Company, was about 3 Weeks late. Overall, NOT a great Experience.

Our Second Condo was in Tangolunda. We ordered all the Bedroom and Dining Room Furniture from the developer in August of 2021, and it started to show up piece by piece in January of 2022.

We ordered our living room furniture on the Internet around the Same time frame. We chased that order until April of 2023, then were told our Credit Card would not work, and Furniture Order was Cancelled. Our Accountant re-ordered the furniture, and were later told it was Shipped to Oaxaca City, by mistake (So we were told), then back to Mexico City, then to the store in Salina Cruz, and then back to Mexico City again. We ended up cancelling that order, and buying Sofa, Love seat, and Chair from Coppell in Huatulco. We received the furniture in about 3 weeks, and it arrived in good shape. we the delivery guys extra, to move it up to the 5th floor. The transaction was OK, however the quality of furniture left a lot to be desired. cheap, poorly built, Chinese junk. 

It was around this time that I was talking to Terri Miller and Karen Bacon, over at Coastal Interiors. I was told that they would be selling Palliser Furniture. I had previous experience with Palliser in Calgary and knew they made quality furniture. I ordered a power recliner, top of the line, in top grade leather in September of 2023 as part of their first order. My Chair arrived in Huatulco and Coastal brought it over to our Condo at Punta Arrocito, carried it up to top floor, unpackaged it and set it up and then removed all the garbage. Painless for me.

In February of 2024, I started talking to the Girls at Coastal about suppling Furniture for a Penthouse in Paradise Cove. Living and dining room, all 3 bedrooms, office, outdoor patio furniture, window coverings. They handled it all, answered questions promptly and kept in touch with any changes and always supplied good advice and designs.  They had it delivered to the top floor (no elevators yet), unpacked and set it up!    Removed all the packaging material and ensured it was cleaned when they left. 

I highly recommend Coastal Interiors, they are good people, trustworthy and hardworking and they stand behind the products they sell. Go for the White glove Service (Best $$ you will ever Spend)

I purchased two condos at Niru Casitas in Huatulco and wanted them both tastefully furnished and originally contacted another design/furnishing company in Santa Cruz that claimed they could assist me with all the furnishings etc. after a number of conversations I was not confident in their ability to source product and their follow-up was terrible so I started looking and contacted Coastal Interiors and right from the start I was impressed with how quickly they followed up, their knowledge of not only design/furnishings but their space planning skills. Terri, Karen and Liliana have been absolute wonderful to deal with and everything arrived on time and it all fit in beautifully. I also had them do so some custom carpentry work (wall unit etc) and for the most part they supplied a complete "turn-key" solution including Nespresso machines. I first contacted Coastal regarding furnishing my new condo. I was met with courteous, friendly, patient and professional service. AND they were absolutely honest and truthful with me about the time frame expectations for delivery here in Huatulco. I am used to being able to obtain orders quickly, so honestly felt that the timelines quoted were too long, and I needed to have something in my place quickly.

I, personally love furniture and decor. I have furnished many homes, so didn’t think anything about taking on the project (2bedroom/2bath condo) I was looking forward to it; and, I love a good “deal” so was happy with the idea of doing it myself to save a bit of money for a few extra margaritas… Let me tell you - this was one of the most frustrating experiences in my life!
First of all, “standard” furniture here is notoriously uncomfortable - unless you go for custom carpentry which takes a lot of time (and $). I have used a few different Mexican carpenters. While all of them have been nice, efficiency is DEFINITELY not their strong suit. There is a lot of truth to the stereotypical phrase: “On Mexican time”. OK, I thought that I would order an inexpensive modular sofa off of Amazon. The item that I received (after 2 weeks), not only did not look like it did in the picture, and was uncomfortable, it was missing one section when delivered. Ok, no problem, I will just return it. I contacted Amazon. They were going to pick it up for return on Nov 10/25.(All 7 boxes), which was a Monday. On Wednesday they still had not picked it up. I called them (with difficulty, in Spanish). “Hoy” they said - it was going to be picked up “today”. By Friday, I gave up, so I borrowed a truck and recruited friends to help me load the boxes up to take them directly to the shipping company. I confirmed operating hours online and arrived in the specified timeframe, only to find out that it was randomly closed for the day. So, I carted it home to cart it back the next day - and SUCCESS (or so I thought). They were open! I also had to borrow a printer to print the only label that Amazon sent me, and put it meticulously inside and on the outside of all seven boxes. It turns out that 6 of the 7 boxes were mislabeled because each box needed its own, unique label. After the kind and patient delivery employees figured it out, and printed out what extra was needed (OVER TWO HOURS of them trying to help me), I was able to leave them there for return to Amazon. It took longer for it to be received and processed by Amazon than I am accustomed to at home. I did not get reimbursed until 6 weeks (now 2+ months after I ordered it) later.
Then I ordered through a catalogue store (on November 7/25. Half of the order came in the time frame quoted (Nov 19-29th), and the other half was scheduled to arrive on December 10th. As I was returning to Canada on December 5th, I pulled in another favor and had a friend come to my condo to receive the delivery on the 10th. All was now going well; I received an email that morning from the store informing me that the remainder of my order was on the way. Only problem: it did not arrive. My friend stayed all day, waiting for it. I tried contacting the company via phone, WhatsApp, and email from Canada, but did not hear any response until the following day informing me that there had been a logistics error and would now be rescheduled again to Dec 23, which was then changed to the 31st. It actually did arrive on New Years Eve, but I was left with unboxing it all/setting it up and discarding all the packaging.
Terri and Karen from Coastal learned of my plight and graciously gave me some options during my palava, despite not actually hiring them to begin with. I can go on as I had SO many other issues with other pieces as well. I have learned: In hindsight I wish that I had done what I have learned that many of my neighbors did - leave everything to Coastal, saved the stress and extra wrinkles and gray hairs and just gone to the beach!!! A MUCH BETTER VALUE!!
